I hear you!Windmills, ground warming to houses… Solar power… Unfortunately greed from large corporations takes away many peoples opportunities for installing these wonderful solutions. But besides greed; paying $ 100,- to an organization fighting for better nature is not cutting it either… You're right, - makes me wonder if we individually ever look deep enough into the mirror?Trine
Yes, lets reason. If you look at the facts objectively, there still is no valid reason to say that we humans have anything to do with whatever the weather out there. Fluctuations in weather are sort of normal....over centuries. I'm all for solar/wind, etc. but the politics energizing this topic are coming from those who are running on emotion, not facts and reason.
- Once read that if every human being planted one tree outside their door in LA., 1 tree! - then the air would be cleansed well and the air would be much healthier... Kind of would make the view prettier too...Trine
Thank you Jeff and Trine.I did plant one tree in front of my house.
Oh yes I forgot, I wonder if Jeff has heard of the over production of CO2and what it does to the atmosphere.I beleive the humans are a bit responsable for that.I suggest doubters read,or watch "An Inconvenient Truth".There's quite a lot of facts there.
Patrick.Yes, I'd say we humans have done our part to an extent. I'm just very wary of doomsday/environmental "movies", books, and pundits continually hammering us with MAN HAS DESTROYED THE PLANET! hype. Remember Paul Ehrlich's "Population Bomb" back in the 70's. And how about the return of the Ice Age we were causing back in the 80's. All of it very very political...including Al Gore's so called documentary. Take the environment seriously...do the right thing...but don't jerk your knee as you do it. Reason!Oh - there's more trees in North America today than there have been in many many years.
Thank you Jeff for answering I'm always glad to read what people know or beleiveon the subject of global warming.
Hmmm...it is intersting; but I feel that there's no coincidence between our dismantling of the ozone layer and the increased pollution, skin cancers, and yes, all the fun of global warming. No doubt at all.....it's happening and we have exacerbated it, sped it up immeasurably. the really awful thing is that even if we made massive changes now(which we should at least all try to do, imho), it might be way too late. It seems every day I hear more bad news on the BBC or on TV5 about species disappearing, diversity gone, due to our unending increases in numbers--homo sapiens. I really wonder what the earth will look like in 100 years. It's just very very painful and sad.(btw I read recently that polar bears are drowning, due to the polar ice melting at a rate that means they swim and find no shore to climb on where it used to be!)
