#238 Shagedelic

I've always been fascinated by these little urban cars.
I drew this one from a movie I saw on Utube.
I love the way they fold up once parked.
I guess you get out from a curb with your remote, rotate the wheel 90 degrees, move the car sideways and let it unfold .
I dedicate this little drawing to my friend Lucas Janin.
I recommend all Dreamworkers see his wonderful photo exhibition(Aperitif de Voyage) at the studio.

#234 How can you love such an ugly monster?

I do. Lon Chaney, Charles Laughton, Anthony Quinn and Anthony Hopkins, or even animated by James Baxter, they are all fantastic acting performances. As Esmeralda ,I must say Gina Lollobridgida is terrific .
Because of the way the movie ends, my favorite adaptation is the version with Anthony Quinn and Gina Lollobridgida

#221 Conan

It still my favorite heroic fantasy movie. The subject of that movie has not age a bit.The character portrait here from bottom-up :Subotai Conan and Valeria. If you believed those last posts were strongly influenced by the technique of a famous illustrator you would be right.

#220 The Three Musketeers

By Alexandre Dumas. Here are from Bottom-up Athos Porthos Aramis but no D'Artagnan. As a movie version I'm quite fond of the version with Gene Kelly and Lana Turner.

#219Flash Gordon

I dedicate those drawings of Dale Arden,Flash Gordon and the Emperor Ming to my extremely talented mother in law Amalia Haley. She use to follow back in Italy the comics of Alex Raymond and the movie serie of Buster Crabbe .I guess it was a wonderful way to escape the reality of Mussolini. So,to Ami with love from Patrick

#181 Edith et Marcel

This is a portrait inspired by the real Edith Piaf and Marcel Cerdan. If you haven't seen it already,I suggest you take a look at the movie "La Vie en Rose".It is a gripping story about the life of Edith Piaf, played by Marion Cotillard( she is phenomenal).Watching Catherine Allegret as the "Madame" was amazing ,it was if Simone Signoret was still among us.If you are interested here is the review by Roger Ebert.
